PESTICIDE PERMITS / OPERATOR IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS

The Tulare County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office will be changed to a new statewide online pesticide permitting and reporting program called CalAgPermits on Monday 11/14/11.

As a result, the Permit renewal process will be somewhat different than previous years and will take more time.  We will meet with you on a preliminary basis to verify your information and maps, but will not have you wait while we input the information into the new system.  We will contact you when your permit is ready to be issued, at which time an inspector will review the new permit with you and issue the permit.  Please plan ahead!!  If you will need to spray in January, you will need to renew your permit in early December.   We will be unable to issue same-day permits!

To help speed the process, please bring the following with you when you come to renew your permit:

  1. Copy of previous permit – review the front page, is your name, address, and phone number correct?
  2. Copy of your old permit maps with all adjacent sites (including corners and those that are “across the road”) labeled with:
    1. Surrounding Commodities and
    2. Sensitive sites, such as houses, schools, waterways, ditches, etc.

Be sure your sites are labeled with the CURRENT YEAR’S commodities, acreage, and site ID (for existing sites) We will be issuing your permit based on the maps you provide to us!

We will be glad to assist if you need a blank map to start over, or if you need assistance updating your maps.

  1. If you are not the property owner,  you must bring your certification (Private Applicator Certificate, QAL, QAC, etc.) and have a Letter of Authorization with the property owner’s information and signature.  Authorization forms are available Here or from our office.

We appreciate your patience with us as we familiarize ourselves with the new system!

ONLINE PESTICIDE USE REPORTS & NOTICES OF INTENT

Past RMMSWeb users will need to contact our office for a new temporary password before logging in to CalAgPermits.   You may email us at aginfo@co.tulare.ca.us to obtain one.   In the email subject line, please write “CalAgPermits login”.  Include in the body of the text:  your name, phone number, permit name and number, and email address.

Notices of Intent and Pesticide Use Reports can be submitted using online forms, or can be transmitted electronically using a variety of commercial software products.  The electronic pesticide reporting function will basically remain the same, but with a slightly different look.

If you have not tried reporting your pesticide use online, we highly encourage you to try it.  We are very excited to bring this service and technology to the agricultural industry.
